American Salers Junior Association

The American Salers Junior Association (ASJA) began in 1983 and celebrated its 26th Junior National Show in Lancaster, Ohio, July 7 - 10, 2010. The founders were young people who wanted to increase involvement of youth with Salers cattle and develop an interest in beef cattle agriculture. The 2011 Junior National Show will be held in Brookings, South Dakota in early July at South Dakota State University.

The ASJA Board of Directors for 2010/11 is pictured here:

Left to right: Director: Devon Rodgers - Ronceverte, W.Va.; Reporter: Allison Liebhart - New Boston, MO.; Vice President: Jacob Irwin, Ola, Ark.; President: Dawnita Deichmann - Hobson, MT.;  Secretary: Ashley Pike - Mitchell, NE.; Treasurer, Miranda Zumbehl, New Bloomfield, Mo.; Director: Layne Moore - Wahoo, Neb.

These seven national junior directors govern the ASJA membership. With extensive ideas, these directors plan national programs and activities for the membership.

The ASJA, like the Salers breed, is growing rapidly and commanding it's own high degree of profile.

The ASJA is developing progressive programs for active members for the future. Members today will be industry leaders of tomorrow!
